Refreshing flat hair: reset the shape before layering product
Hair can go flat after a long day, humidity, a cap or running hands through it. The quick reaction is often more product, but that usually removes airiness. Start by restoring direction and volume.
Find that day’s cause
See whether only the roots are flat, the crown has lost direction or the whole head feels saturated. A flat area caused by a cap needs a different reset from hair that is heavy with product.
Restore with hands, water or air first
If needed, dampen the roots slightly, reshape them with your fingers and let them dry or blow-dry briefly with direction. This gives the haircut a foundation again instead of adding another layer over a collapsed form.
Use only a small finish afterwards
When the form returns, a small amount of your familiar product can connect the loose sections. If your hair goes flat shortly after every reset, ask your barber to assess the weight distribution and crown at the next appointment.
